Well, yes, basically. Except Christianity, as it's presented in the Bible, is anything but a "religion." Religion is about WHAT WE DO FOR GOD, to seek after Him, and to try to please Him so as to better our lives both in the present, and in hope of finding "salvation" in the future, in eternity.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about WHAT GOD HAS DONE FOR US! The Bible says, it's "not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us," (Titus 3: 5) . We're told that God demonstrates His love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US. (Romans 5: 8).
There is nothing we can do to deserve salvation and forgiveness of sin, but God gives it freely by His grace.
THAT's the difference. Christianity is the OPPOSITE of religion.
HEY, come join us this Sunday, and discover the difference --discover Jesus in His Word, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Decatur.

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God's unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.
